Love is made of less than four letters – Part 2

The next day at college. Time: 9:00AM
“So how were your dance classes yesterday?”asked Sneha as she walked towards the classroom along with Prerna.
“They were good, just the usual stuff. Youknow how they are.” Said Prerna as the two were about to enter the classroom
Sneha caught Prerna by the arm and pulledher out before she could get in, and said:
“I know you weren’t at your dance classesyesterday. So where were you all evening? Let me guess, with Karan right?”
“Stop doing that!” shouted Prerna, as everybodyaround them, turned around to see what was going on.
“Who the hell are you to ask me that? Youare just a friend and keep things there.” She said, as she freed her arm fromSneha.
“You are doing a mistake Prerna. I amtelling you, he isn’t a nice guy!” said Sneha as Prerna walked into theclassroom and Sneha stood outside with a helpless look on her face.
Hearing those words Prerna turned aroundand shot one of her angriest looks at Sneha. She walked up to her in haste andwhispered to her in an angry tone, “We are in college, I hope you realize that.I told you I don’t want this thing coming out in the open here. Now, if youdon’t mind, I would like to call an end to this discussion NOW!”
Sneha and Prerna didn’t speak to each otheruntil that evening, when Sneha receives an SMS from Prerna, “I am seeing Karanover for dinner tonight. I would like to speak to you before that. Let’s meetup at the cafe Aroma?”
“Sure, why not. I’ll catch up with you at 6in the evening then.” replied back Sneha.
CafeAroma, 6:00 P.M.
“Two cups of cappuccinoplease.”saidPrerna to the waiter.
“Ok Sneha, tell me something, what exactlyis your problem? Is it with Karan, or do you have a problem with me datingsomeone?”
“Why would I have a problem with you datingsomeone? You are my best friend; I just want to see you happy.  I want to see you with the best guy in thewhole world. You deserve it Prerna.”
“So the problem is with Karan right? Why doyou have such a problem with him?…”
Sneha cut her short and said, “He isn’t anice guy Prerna! That’s my problem with him!”
“How can you say he isn’t a nice guy? Youhardly even know Karan” retorted Prerna.
Sneha didn’t reply and moved her face awayfrom Prerna.
Prerna put her left arm on Sneha’s shoulderand turned Sneha’s face towards her and noticed a couple of tear drops rollingdown her eyes. She didn’t say a word and wiped them off.
After a couple of minutes, the silence wasbroken by the waiter who came to deliver the coffee.
“Is there anything else you would like toorder man?”
“No nothing, thank you.” said Prerna with asmile.
As the waiter walked away Prerna turnedtowards Sneha and asked, “I am not saying anything, but this silence isfreaking me our Sneha. If there is something I should now, please tell me!”
“I gotta go Prerna. I have some work.” saidSneha as she got up to leave.
“No wait, sit down, we need to talk aboutthis. Whatever it is, just tell me.” said Prerna calmly as she caught hold ofShena’s hand and made her sit down again.
Sneha had a glass of water, took a deepbreath and said, “Promise me Prerna, whatever I tell you will remain betweenjust both of us. I don’t want you to ruin your life, that’s the only reason Iam telling you this.”
Prerna was confused, but wanted to knowmore so just nodded back to Sneha.
“It all happened about a year ago, you hadnot moved into this apartment yet….”
