After Big Boss, Its the turn of the F-word

In a rather unprecedented and controversial government order, two popular reality shows  – ‘Rakhi Ka insaaf’ and ‘Big Boss-Season 4’ were directed to be aired after 11P.M. Although the makers of ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’ had decided to abide by the government order, Viacon 18, the owners of the channel Colors, on which Big Boss is aired, decided to go to court and managed to get a stay on the government order. However, we have learnt from our sources in the I&B ministry that the government has not taken this as a setback and in fact is pushing for greater censorship on other reality and TV soaps as well. We have also learnt that the censorship will not only be limited to television but will cover other aspects too.

One such aspect, as we learn, would be the use of the “F” word. Although no official confirmation yet, but  sources have told Sensible Bakwas that the government is all set to ban the use of the “F” word between 5A.M. and 11P.M.  Although officially our sources are telling us this has been done to curb the use of foul language among kids, an opposition leader told us mockingly, “This talk about curbing the use of foul language is all bullshit. The fact of the matter is that ever since Manmohan Singh has become the Prime Minister, he has been shown the finger by everybody – right from his Cabinet Ministers to Kalmadi to Sheela Dikshit and now A Raja. I am telling you, this is nothing but a reaction to that.” The communists however, have welcomed this move. One such activist said, “We welcome this decision whole heartedly. Where the hell did the “F” word come from? It is an American tactic to corrupt the youth of this country. Finally the government has decided stand up for itself and the people of this country.”  He was about to say something else when his phone rang. “Oh My God, I’ll be there right away! How the f*** can he do this?”

Among other aspects, we have unconfirmed reports that the government is also considering banning Raghu Ram of MTV Roadies, from being viewed before 11P.M. by anybody below 18 and VJ Andy the former host of Dare to Date on Channel V from being viewed by anybody altogether. We will bring you more details of this in the coming days, but what needs to be seen now is how the government intends to implement this new order.

That’s it from Sensible Bakwas people. Stay tuned for some more Bakwas in the days to come. Till then, keep smiling!

Cheers!

It is all ok to talk about freedom of expression and mock at the government ruling, but don’t you think as a society we need to get rid of such malodorous bovine crap as big boss and rakhi ka insaaf? What good are they?

    1. Tavish Chadha says:

Well Ravi, the jury is out on that… crapiness and morality are debatable terms… this was just a wierd though i got when I heard the news and wrote a whole post on it. Anyways thanks for putting your views across so frankly… 🙂

Hey Tavish, this issue is blown out of proportion. You get obsolute content, much more freely outsite the tv too. Now no one will have a clout to take that on.

Liked the take on this controversy 😛
