Silent screams I hear day and night
They pound my head and give me a fright
Invisible faces before me all the time
Their sullen eyes staring at mine
Hearts bleeding no pain they feel
I clean the stains off my hands
Hoping their wounds would heel
‘Blind your eyes, deafen your ears’
They tell me as I sleep.
‘We’ll be there even in your dreams
Do what you like, try what you may
There is no escape, from our silent screams
P.S. We spend our lives taking our loved ones for granted. Our constant complains and grudges against them kill them everyday and we never even realize it until it’s too late. The ‘I’ in the poem here is just one such person.
