A dog’s life

Dedicated to all my friends working in the corporate world.

I’ve been working on a night shift for the past one month. Once in a while I and a few of my friends from work go out for a stroll downstairs. While most of the gang are busy puffing their cigarettes away to glory, the rest of us are busy checking out the chicks from the call centres next door. We generally end up talking about the same stuff everyday – bitching about our bosses, complaining about our miserable lives, gossiping about mishaps and escalations etc. the list goes on. Along with the chicks, gossip and the cigarette that make the night spicy, there’s another ingredient – the stray dogs.

I remember a friend of mine once telling me, ‘Man, we corporate employees are born to live a dog’s life.’ I agreed with him back then, but not anymore. The fact of the matter is our lives are worse than a dog’s life. Trust me, these get to have allot of fun. Here’s how:

  • We need to have access cards around our neck. These guys don’t even wear a collar!
  • While we sit and work our ass off, these guys get to chill out all night long!
  • We have a million things to worry about everyday. These guys don’t seem to have anything to be bothered about at all!
  • They sit around doing nothing all the time. We just can’t afford doing that, can we? ;)
  • Neither do they pay taxes; neither do they have to worry about appraisals.
  • Last, but not the least, they can stare at the chicks for as long as they want. We all know what’s going to happen if we do that!

I wanted to take a better pic. But the dog just wont pose!

I am sure you guys get the point. I’ll just conclude here by saying, ‘Dear god, if you are reading this post today, you know what I want to be when you send me back here again!’

No doubt its a good post where you have given your perspectives, and compared you life with a dog!

Dogs have their tough life too man! look at the other side of it

    1. You are not shooed off by the people on the road.
    2. You don’t have to survive on the food from the waste disposals and drink water from the gutters.
    3. You don’t have to survive the damn cold night without shelters.
    4. You don’t have to run and hide when the municipality dog catchers are on the hunt.
    5. You never had to learn the lessons of survival at the very young age.
    6. You don’t have to live on the mercy of other humans.

    The list goes on buddy!

Althought I work in IT only, I have a little different perspective.

//We need to have access cards around our neck. These guys don’t even wear a collar!
The exact reason I don’t wear access card, but flash it like a police officer at the entry gate, despite multiple warnings.

//While we sit and work our ass off, these guys get to chill out all night long!
    Sadly yes.

//We have a million things to worry about everyday. These guys don’t seem to have anything to be bothered about at all!
The only thing worried about at any stage is, few comments on my blog :(, yes, and i also blog in office so all the well chilled.

//They sit around doing nothing all the time. We just can’t afford doing that, can we?
No public comment, but gocomics do serve good cartoons all day long. :P

//Neither do they pay taxes; neither do they have to worry about appraisals.
Aah, I believe in Karma, mine and companies. No appraisal, I already have a online resume. :P

//Last, but not the least, they can stare at the chicks for as long as they want. We all know what’s going to happen if we do that!
This is we have to object :P

    1. Tavish Chadha says:

lol… i’ll make sure u get ur comments dude… thanks for the comment :D

  9. Anuradha says:

  10. HI T!
This was such a funnnn read!
I think I will share this with Aabid when he gets back from his corporate official visit from calcutta :)
I often get offered these corporate jobs at the corporate do’s I go to with my hubby, I flatly refuse saying “not if you give me a million bucks, will I enter that rat race to work! I will eventually forget who I am.” They actually drop their jaw, but I know are secretly envious of my awesome free lance, love what I do kind of life :)
Tsk tsk poor you….dont ask God to make you a “you know what” when you come back….just do what you love now !! :) and then tell those dog, “TAke that you Dogs!” Much more satisfying ..dont you think ;)
    Lots of love,
    Z~

    1. Tavish Chadha says:

hehehe… yeah do show it to him…. would love ton know what he says ;)

u know what Z? I am envious too of ur “awesome freelance” But corporate culture aint that bad either… its got its strong points.. makes u pretty strong as a person…

and as for the wish top god… dont worry.. that was only to sound funny… the “you know what” is the last thing I wanna be! Just imagine, we get to blog… they dont!! I cant even imagine a lifewithout my blog!!! :D
